The first wednesday of camp we took a trip through the Andes and arrived in Otavalo. 2 hours away from Quito it is the artisan heart of the country. Here the kids looked through the artisan market and some of them bought some souvenirs.

After that we travelled 30 minutes to Cuicocha, which is a lake formed by a volcanic eruption thousands of years ago.

We had a nice meal in the nearby restaurant...
and then we took a boat ride in the lake before returning to camp
